1. DANIEL 1 : 8.
Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile
himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies; But
he didn’t rebel or became silent about his conviction,
rather requested the authority regarding that.
Remember, Daniel was just a slave but, by the grace
of GOD, he didn’t consider the appointed chief as an
enemy! He humbly requested the chief.
The art of negotiation!
2. DANIEL 1 : 10 – 13.
When the chief expressed his inability to accept Daniel’s
request, Daniel didn’t give up. He didn’t change his stand
but asked the concerned person to test him for ten days.
The art of negotiation!
3. DANIEL 2 : 13 – 16.
Nebuchadnezzar’s command to kill all the wise men because
of their failure to tell and interpret his dream brought death
to Daniel’s doorsteps. Even in that confusing and threatening
situation, Daniel didn’t give up; Rather he found out the
reason for king’s anger and asked the king to give him time.
Negotiating to buy time in an almost impossible situation!
The art of negotiation!
4. DANIEL 2 : 49.
When Nebuchadnezzar promoted Daniel, he petitioned for
his prayer partners and got better positions for them in that
kingdom. Daniel didn’t act on his own because of his new
position or hesitated to request the king for his friends.
But he petitioned in a convincing way!
The art of negotiation!
If we, the people of Truth, use our words in a wise way in our
daily walk, we can make our life more peaceful.
GOD gave grace and wisdom to Daniel to handle his words
in a convincing way and hence whatever might be his personal
position, he was able to move forward.
Crisis or promotion, Daniel knew how to turn things in his favor.
Of course, not by dirty manipulation, but by the grace of GOD!
Some times we try silence and some other times we try angry
outburst and confrontation to express our convictions; But by
the grace of GOD we should learn when to be silent and when
to engage in healthy confrontation; Most of the times, neither
silence nor confrontation will bring the required outcome!
Rather, negotiating in a proper way by trusting GOD will bring
May GOD give us all the wisdom and grace to use our words
in a healthy and prosperous way!
COUNSEL IN THE HEART OF MAN IS LIKE DEEP
WATER, BUT A MAN OF UNDERSTANDING WILL
DRAW IT OUT. ( PROVERBS 20 : 5 ).
HE sent a man before them -Joseph- who was sold as a slave.
GOD sent Joseph to Egypt before other Israelites!
Wait a minute!
When did that happen?
Where is it in the Book of Genesis?
GOD sent Joseph?
Was it not Jacob who sent Joseph to Shechem?
-Is obedience to parents also GOD’s way of leading a person?
Was it not some unknown man who informed Joseph about his
brothers’ plan to go to Dothan thus by helping Joseph to go to
-Does GOD guide us through a stranger’s word also?
Was it not Joseph’s brothers who sold him to the Midianite
– Are a GOD-centered person’s enemies also controlled by
GOD in such a way that even their secret plans will help that
person to move only in the GOD- assigned direction?
Was it not the Midianite traders who sent Joseph as a slave to
– Is having no rights for a time period also a proof that one is
travelling in the GOD-designed Royal Road?
Was it not the Potiphar’s wife who was instrumental in sending
Joseph to the prison ?
-Do injustice and silent nights also confirm that our journey is
in the right direction?
Was it not the king of Egypt who sent two of his servants to the
– Does the seemingly accidental meetings in a disciple’s life is
also the significant road signs planted by GOD?
Was it not the forgetfulness of the person who received favor
from Joseph the reason for his extended days of dark nights?
– Does the ‘last hope’ on a person becoming the ‘lost hope’
indicate that our times are in HIS hands?
Was it not the king of Egypt who sent and released Joseph?
– Is it true that the world will conspire to honor a life surrendered
to GOD in the right time?
GOD sent Joseph to Egypt!
But it took thirteen years to reach Egypt from Canaan!
Because when GOD deals with a person, HE will not just sent him
in the Royal Road but equips him also for his future assignment!
And above all, he didn’t just send Joseph!
But HE went with Joseph! (GENESIS 39 : 2 & 21)
Yes, HIS presence will be with us, whether we acknowledge or not,
whenever we travel in HIS Royal Road!
Weeping? Lost hope? No one to understand?
Almost gave up?; Betrayal after betrayal?
Rejection after rejection?
No one remembers?
Forget your own name in the valley of shadow of death?
Counting stars with open eyes and counting sheep with closed eyes?
Feeling as if the whole world is against you?
Hey! Wipe your tears! Don’t worry!
You are a Joseph for this generation!
Believe me, you are on the Royal Road!
GOD only sent you in the Road!
Not just sends you but HE also comes with you!
Look up and get up!
Again surrender your life to HIM!
And live one day at a time by trusting HIM!
Soon you will receive your position and promotion!
UNTIL THE TIME THAT HIS WORD CAME TO PASS, THE
WORD OF THE LORD TESTED HIM (PSALM 105 : 17)
PESSIMIST: You are having this problem for the last twelve
years. You met so many doctors, spent so much money but
no deliverance; you have no hope; learn to live with this problem!
( MARK 5 : 25, 26 )
OPTIMIST : But I heard about JESUS; Even in my own place, I
heard about the deliverance a man, possessed by legion, got.
I trust HIM!
PESSIMIST : Even if you trust HIM, you won’t have the opportunity
to meet HIM!
OPTIMIST : Yes, but the LORD is close to all who call on HIM, to
all who call on HIM sincerely.( PSALM 145 : 18 )
HE will create an opportunity for my sake!
PESSIMIST : Even if HE is close to you, HIS focus is not you, but
the daughter of Jairus ( MARK 5 : 22 ) . HE won’t stop for you!
OPTIMIST : HE need not stop for me; HE need not touch me; I
will use the opportunity and some how I will touch HIM!
PESSIMIST : You see, how many are behind HIM; It is a big crowd;
But you are so weak because of your problem; How are you going
to touch HIM? It is not possible.
OPTIMIST : Yes, but because of the crowd, HE can’t move fast; SO I
will get more time to go close to HIM; With all my mind, with all my
strength, with all my heart I will persevere. At least HIS dress I will touch!
PESSIMIST : Dress? Do you have any scriptural reference to believe
that by touching a dress you can get healed?
OPTIMIST : I am not trusting the method but the PERSON and HIS
presence; HE can. that much I know and that is enough!
PESSIMIST : Suppose some one in the crowd knows about your
problem, what they will think ? you know, when you are having this
kind of problem, you should not come near other people?
OPTIMIST : when I started my faith walk towards HIM, the first thing
I learned is not to worry about ‘ what others will think?’.
Let them worry about their problems and their master!
Further, I am not following the crowd but JESUS.
PESSIMIST : You see how many are touching HIM and HIS dress;
nothing is happening; why waste time? Go back!
OPTIMIST : Can you please move and give me space to touch
HIS dress? I believe ‘ If I can touch HIS clothing, I will be healed’.
This is my faith; I don’t know about others!
She touched the fringe of HIS robe, and the healing power had
gone out from HIM and she got healed!
YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL. GO IN PEACE.
YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED, ( MARK 5 : 34 ).
“Whatever HE says to you, do it”!.
Mary’s instruction to the servants looked so simple;
To manage the crisis, the servants were ready to do
anything, but they didn’t even imagine that their logical
nerves would be tested like that in that process!
Test 1 : Selection of stone water pots which were set
aside for purification of the Jews!
Logic: What is the connection between wedding function
and purification ceremony? Instead of wine pressing stones
why He chose these water pots?
Test 2 : Fill the water pots with water;
Logic : Filling nearly 120 to 180 gallons of water is a time
consuming, tough work; When there is an emergency in
the dining hall, is it not waste of time?
Why not we ignore HIM and do some thing to manage the
Test 3 : Draw some out and take it to the master of the
Logic: Who asked water? The master of the feast is
waiting for the wine and HE asks them to give water!
How his need and my supply are going to match?
Test 4 : The master of the feast certified what he received
was indeed good wine!
Logic : The servants poured the water in the jars; they only
drew some out; they only took it to the master; how can he
certify that as good wine?
But, Praise the Lord, the servants obeyed all HIS instructions
just like a robot!
No questions; No murmurings; No hesitations; just obedience!
No wonder a miracle happened on that day!
And no wonder we are not seeing any miracle in our crisis!
You see, how many questions we ask; how much hesitation
we have and how often we murmur even after receiving, the
RHEMA, HIS clear instructions.
Ensure that the WORD received by you is from the LORD;
Once you are sure of that, give a robotic response!
To come out of your crisis, just trust and obey!
Whatever HE says to you, do it!
“FOR MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS,
NOR ARE YOUR WAYS MY WAYS” SAYS THE LORD.
FOR AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH,
SO ARE MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR WAYS, AND MY
THOUGHTS THAN YOUR THOUGHTS. ( ISAIAH 55 : 8 & 9 )
II KINGS 3 : 16
‘Make this valley full of ditches’ was the Word of the LORD!
Looks like a simple instruction; but check the situation.
After a seven days journey through the wilderness of Edom;
When there was no water for the three armies, armies of Judah,
Israel and Edom, and the animals following them;
When the king of Israel, who planned the war, lost hope of
victory and assumed GOD’s hand against them;
When the servant of GOD, Elisha, openly condemned and
criticized the king of Israel and his parents;
When the servant of GOD ruled out natural means by
declaring ‘ you shall see neither wind nor rain’;
Yes, the counsel of the LORD, to dig ditches in the valley,
came through Elisha in that situation!
Easy to obey?
A tired and thirsty army digging ditches?
Not just one or two, but the valley full of ditches?
But, they obeyed and the ditches were ready!
In the morning, suddenly water came and filled the land!
The water in the ditches not only satisfied the thirst of the
army but also deceived the enemy’s army resulting in the
The ditch became the switch, changing a hopeless day
to a happy day!
when GOD asks you to prepare yourself, don’t murmur
about your situation; don’t list out your struggles and
inabilities; don’t try to write your own conclusions!
When the showers of blessings came down, many servants
of GOD failed to utilize the opportunity simply because of the
fact that they were not ready!
If you prepare yourself, in the right time, the blessings will
come and they will be sufficient not just to satisfy the thirst
of you and your flock but also to confuse and conquer your
Trust HIM and HIS WORD! Be prepared! Your day is coming!
TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART
AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING;
IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM,
AND HE SHALL DIRECT YOUR PATHS.
( PROVERBS 3 : 5 & 6 )
GOD tested Abraham’s faith and obedience!
But, think about Isaac’s attitude!
He was not just a small kid; a young man who had the
strength to take up a three days journey and to carry
the wood for burnt offering on his shoulders!
How was it possible for him to obey his father like that?
How come he didn’t murmur to carry the wood to the
place of sacrifice, even when the servants were available?
And above all, how could have Abraham tied and placed
Isaac, a young man with so much strength, on the altar?
Whether Isaac tried or cried to escape from that position?
Was it possible for Abraham to do all the required things
without Isaac’s active cooperation and perfect submission?
How did Isaac empty himself of his rights and privileges
on the Mount Moriah because of his trust on his father?
Come to another mountain, Calvary!
The Father and The Son!
The Son voluntarily emptied Himself, obediently humbled
Himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on the cross!
On Mount Moriah, upto the last minute, Isaac was not clear
about his father’s plan;
But, JESUS knew the plan of HIS FATHER from ‘the beginning’!
On Mount Moriah, the son was replaced by a lamb on the altar;
But on Calvary, The SON, JESUS became the Lamb on the cross!
On Mount Moriah, the father got his son back because of the lamb;
But on Calvary, The Father opened a new way, through the LAMB,
to us to become HIS children!
Yes, we all GOT FATHER because of the perfection of The LAMB!
If Isaac wished to thank the lamb for its substitutionary death,
it was not possible because that lamb was no more;
JESUS, The LAMB of GOD, was not just allowed to die on
Calvary, but GOD raised Him up to the heights of heaven and
gave Him a name that is above every other name!
But we rarely thank HIM or The FATHER!
Yes, we, those who believed on the all sufficient death and
resurrection of The LAMB, GOT FATHER; but the question
is whether our life is a life of gratitude?
Perfect SON, Perfect submission, Perfect sacrifice, Perfect
atonement, Perfect substitution and Perfect resurrection to
make the imperfect, like me, also perfect by His Grace!
CHRIST DIED ONLY ONCE AS A SACRIFICE
TO TAKE AWAY THE SINS OF MANY PEOPLE.
HE WILL COME AGAIN BUT NOT TO DEAL
WITH OUR SINS AGAIN. BUT THIS TIME HE
WILL BRING SALVATION TO ALL THOSE WHO
ARE EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM (HEBREWS 9 : 28)
II CHRONICLES 20 : 1 – 30
King Jehoshaphat’s reign; The people of Ammon, Moab,
and Mount Seir came to battle against Jehoshaphat; A
great multitude cornered Judah(II chronicles 20 :1 & 2).
King Jehoshaphat and his people found so much precious
jewelry and abundance of valuables on the dead bodies
of their enemies; The fear of GOD was on all the kingdoms
when they heard that the Lord had fought against the
enemies of Israel( II Chronicles 20 : 25 – 30 ).
Judah got honor and riches after the battle!
How the cornering became honoring?
1. Jehoshaphat humbled himself in the LORD(verse 3).
2. He acknowledged the fact ‘The LORD reigns'(verse 6).
3. He recalled GOD’s faithfulness ( verse 7 ).
4. He remembered GOD’s promises (verse 9 ).
5. He reckoned Judah’s GOD given position ( verse 11).
6. He led his dependents to seek the LORD ( verse 13 ).
7. He humbly received the WORD of GOD ( verse 18 ).
8. He trusted the received WORD and because of that trust
worshiped the LORD. ( verses 18 & 19 ).
9. He encouraged his people also to trust and worship the
LORD ( verses 20 & 21 ).
10. He made arrangements for non-stop praising and
worshiping ( verse 21).
Is it not so simple?
But, the beauty is that he moved like this when he was in
a ‘ cornered’ position!
Now, think about the crisis!
Why this kind of unexpected, unnecessary battle?
Not to crush Judah, but to give peace and prosperity!
The enemies came to battle, but why they brought so much
valuables and jewelry to battle? Is it not funny and unusual?
They brought their wealth to Judah and died!
Feeling cornered by fearful problems?
Not having any hope of escape?
Fear not, this may happen as an answer to your prayer!
Yes, the so called crisis may be GOD’s way of giving you
the peace and prosperity you longed for!
Don’t consider your ‘ cornering’ as a difficulty!
In fact, it is an opportunity given by GOD!
See, even if Jehoshaphat and Judah worked throughout
the year the possibility of becoming so prosperous was
remote, but one crisis brought the wealth to the doorsteps!
Even if Jehoshaphat used all his might, it was not possible
for him to threaten all his enemies simultaneously, but a
single crisis threatened and silenced all his enemies!
That is ‘BERACHAH’!
Handle the crisis carefully!
If you are cornered, look unto the CORNERSTONE!
The battle belongs to the LORD!
You just have to gather the spoil!
If ready, then again read the above ten points and
Why waste an opportunity to be prosperous?
FOR AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE
EARTH, SO ARE MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR
WAYS, AND MY THOUGHTS THAN YOUR
THOUGHTS( ISAIAH 55 : 9 )
GENESIS 50 : 7 – 14.
Jacob’s burial service; Joseph and his brothers
along with a big crowd went from Egypt to
the land of Jacob, completed the rituals and
came back to Egypt.
Only a few days affair!
No difficulty mentioned about the journey!
In fact, The Bible takes only eight verses for that!
But, during Moses’ time, Moses and Israelites took
nearly forty years for their journey; journey full of
problems, punishments, deaths, wanderings, …. .
From Egypt to the land of Jacob;
A separate book ‘ EXODUS’ deals with that!
Reason: Lack of faith, murmurings and rebellions!
Dear friend, it is possible for us to make some of
the simple assignments into a most complex and
painful projects just because of our attitude!
Doubting GOD’s goodness, blaming others for the
temporary setbacks, murmuring against GOD’s
provision and protection are sure time eaters in
Want to be efficient and effective?
Trust Him and His words;
Stay away from murmurers;
Thank HIM always;
Lean on HIM and walk.
Have an abundant life!
AS FOR GOD, HIS WAY IS PERFECT;
THE WORD OF THE LORD IS
FLAWLESS. (2 SAMUEL 22: 31)
1. GENESIS 37 : 18 – 24.
Joseph’s brothers planned to kill him. Away from home. Ten brothers against him. Death certain. No way of escape.
But in the last moment, their plan to kill Joseph got modified
because of Reuben’s suggestion!
Reuben, a foe camp angel to Joseph!..
2. JOSHUA 2 : 1 – 7 .
The Israelite spies entered Jericho. Reached Rahab’s house.
But the Jericho Intelligence Network was so sharp, they got
the tip about their visit. The counter attack begins.
The spies inside Rahab’s house; The soldiers outside!
No way of escape; death certain;
But Rahab of Jericho hid them and helped to escape!
Rahab, a foe camp angel to the spies!
3. Judges 7 : 10 – 16.
Gideon, called by GOD, but not so courageous; Even after a
heavy dose of divine encouragement, hesitates to attack the
enemy; Amalekites, Midianites and all the people of the east,
as numerous as locusts, surrounded Israelite camp;
No way of escape; death certain;
But one enemy soldier explaining his dream to another gives
enhanced courage to Gideon to thwart the enemies!
A soldier, a foe camp angel to Gideon!
4. I Samuel 20.
Furious King Saul tried to kill David unsuccessfully so many
times; Waiting for the New Moon dinner with a subtle plot
to eliminate David; No way of escape; Death certain;
But, Saul’s own son Jonathan loved David so much, he
helped David to escape from that place against his father’s scheme!.
Jonathan, a foe camp angel to David!
5. I Samuel 30 : 9 – 16.
Ziklag; A place where David and his six hundred member
troop lost everything; Even the six hundred friends turned
against him; David all alone; Not even having the needed information about the enemy; Two hundred of the six
hundred stayed behind; loss; pain; loneliness; confusion!.
But, a sick servant, abandoned by the enemies, gives the
vital information to David about the enemies.
David recovered all, from that subtle Amalekites!
A sick servant, a foe camp angel to David!
Worrying about your enemies?
So cunning like Joseph’s brothers?
So strong and sharp like the king of Jericho?
So numerous like the Amalekites and Midianites?
So ferocious like King Saul?
So swift and invisible like the Amalekites?
Remember the above said examples!
Your help comes from above!
Even from the foe camp, angels will come to help;
Fear not; Strengthen yourself in the LORD;
No weapon formed against you shall prosper!
SHOW ME A SIGN FOR GOOD, THAT THOSE
WHO HATE ME MAY SEE IT AND BE ASHAMED,
BECAUSE YOU , LORD, HAVE HELPED ME AND
COMFORTED ME. ( PSALM 86 : 17 ).
GENESIS 21 : 14 – 19.
Hagar and Ishmael sent out by Abraham and Sarah;
Pathetic situation in the life of Sarah.
From slavery to a blessed position and then abandoned;
Her life was always controlled by some one else.
Is not natural to cry? Is it not the time to feel depressed?
Is it wrong to worry about the future of her son?
She lifted her voice and wept.
But notice the surprising response from GOD!
‘GOD heard the voice of the lad’,
she cried but her cry was not so significant .
Again the angel of GOD explains (GENESIS 21 : 17 )
‘GOD has heard the voice of the lad where he is’.
The Bible not even recorded the cry of the lad, but GOD heard it;
Hagar lifted her voice and wept, but that was not considered!
Hagar already received a personal promise about her son
and his future(GENESIS 16 : 10, 11 &12 ).
Again GOD confirmed that to Abraham( GENESIS 17 : 20 ).
Again GOD promised that to Abraham ( GENESIS 21 : 13 ).
When GOD promised and confirmed that again and again,
Getting frustrated and crying is not expected from Hagar;
She is supposed to encourage and strengthen Ishmael,
who is yet to get the maturity to claim the promise;
Crying now means lack of faith in GOD and thinking high
about her role in the fulfillment about the promise;
You know, the child won’t die, It is having a promise!
Her cry is aiming at the death of the child!
It is a mistake to cry from her part; CHILLI mistake!
See the angel’s response;
‘Hold the lad with your hand and I will make him a great nation’
Notice carefully, no blessings promised to her, but only to the lad;
Her blessings depends on holding the hands of the lad!
With or without her help, the promise will be fulfilled;
But if she needs to be blessed, she has to be with the child!
Yes, GOD opened her eyes!
How many of us are crying with these kinds of unbelief?
We overestimate our worth in the GOD given vision, ministry;
We cry foolishly fearing the death of the vision and ministry;
Remember, GOD given vision can not die; can not be killed;
It is having life; the promise and the blessings of GOD!
Your blessings depend on your attachment and involvement;
Don’t ever imagine, if you are not there ….?
Even your cry and frustration will become a mistake;
A chilli mistake, which brings tears if mishandled;
Stop your cry; Get hold of the GOD given vision;
Your future blessings depend on that;
You are not needed for that vision;
But, you need that vision;
Understand, humble yourselves and accept your part!
WRITE THE VISION AND MAKE IT PLAIN ON TABLETS,
THAT HE MAY RUN WHO READS IT.
FOR THE VISION IS YET FOR AN APPOINTED TIME;
BUT AT THE END IT WILL SPEAK, AND IT WILL NOT LIE.
THOUGH IT TARRIES, WAIT FOR IT;
BECAUSE IT WILL SURELY COME, IT WILL NOT TARRY.
( HABAKKUK 2 : 2 & 3 )
