WILL AND WISH

I CHRONICLES 17 : 1 – 15

David’s desire to build GOD’s house looked like a
honorable desire but GOD rejected David’s desire!
It was not in the will of GOD!.
What was wrong in his desire?
Was not he thinking about GOD’s glory?
In what way he was inferior to any other king?

The confusion between man’s Godly desires and
the will of GOD!

Even though GOD explained David the reason for
that rejection and HIS will about HIS house, it was
surely difficult to accept that rejection.

Even Moses’ desire to enter the promised land and
Paul’s desire to preach to his own people were not
approved by GOD!

If it is GOD who works in us both to will and to do
for HIS good pleasure (PHILIPPIANS 2 : 12), why
we need to be careful about our desires?. Are we
not having the freedom to take all our holy desires
as HIS will?

Dear friend,
Be clear about one thing; even though our spirit is
regenerated by the HOLY SPIRIT, our mind and body
are still in the fallen state; redemption of our body will
happen when JESUS comes again; but as the carnal
desires and the spiritual desires are always fighting
against each other to control the mind, most of the
desires in us will be having subtle embedding of
carnality even if our desires appears to be holy!

That is why the continuous renewal of mind by the
WORD is so important to prove what is that good and
acceptable and perfect will of GOD. ( ROMANS 12 : 2 ).

Cultivate the art of having holy desires but learn to filter
and find the will of GOD from that holy desires;
Never ignore the regular renewal of mind by the WORD;
Before attempting to find the hidden will of GOD, check
whether you are obeying the revealed will of GOD.

If your desire and GOD’s will are not matching, don’t get
depressed, but help others to fulfill HIS will in their life;
See, even though David was denied the privilege of building
GOD’s house, David took so much pain to collect all the
things for the temple of GOD and to identify the right people
to do the work so that Solomon can easily complete the
assigned work (I CHRONICLES 22 & 23).

Remember, HIS sheep hears HIS voice;
Stay close to HIM so that you can hear HIS voice!

THE ENTRANCE OF YOUR WORD GIVES LIGHT;
IT GIVES UNDERSTANDING TO THE SIMPLE.
( PSALM 119 : 130 )

HEALTHY HEARTITUDE

DANIEL 10

Daniel was mourning three full weeks!
Partial fasting and persistent praying!
For what?
To humble himself in the sight of the LORD and
to have a clear understanding!

Think about this; a man who served as the Chief administrative
officer for so many decades, a man who was able to interpret
so many dreams and visions, a man who met angels in his
visions as well as in the lion’s den, a man who saw in his vision
the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man, a man who had clear
revelations about the end times and a man who was able to
interpret even the writing on the wall was fasting and praying to
gain more understanding and to humble himself!

A man who excelled in his academics, administration as well
as in his spiritual life throughout his lifetime decided and set
his heart to understand and to humble himself before the LORD!

Fasting not just for one or two days but for more than twenty
one days!
So aged but so thirsty!
Even if his life had many unique achievements he had a holy
dissatisfaction!
To know and understand HIM and HIS plans more and more!

In a world where even a small success in a minor endeavor
makes human beings so proud and haughty, people like
Daniel are rare to see!
Kingdoms changed; kings changed; but Daniel’s prominence
in those kingdoms never decreased; Even then, he set his
heart to humble himself!
Daniel was not dwelling in his past glory but focused on
GOD’s glory!
No wonder the enemy tried his best for twenty one days to
disturb the prayer. ( DANIEL 10 : 13).

Dear friend,
Want to have a settled spiritual life?
Satisfied with the little Bible knowledge?
Feeling proud because of just one revelation?
Still boasting about your ‘ long long ago’ achievement?

Be warned, your contentment should be in the material
things, not in the spiritual things!
Cultivate the art of having holy dissatisfaction in your
spiritual disciplines!
More love, more power, more revelations;
More praying, more sowing, more giving;
More fasting; more thirsting, more filling;

Never allow your track record to deviate you from the track!
Praise GOD for the past achievements but don’t stop there;
Ask for new assignments; new challenges; new domains!

Be honest!
When was the last time you fasted and prayed, not for some
worldly blessings but, to know more about HIS PLANS?

Hey, the angels are waiting to bring the answers from the
THRONE, but where are the Daniels?
Anyone listening?

TAKE HEED TO THE MINISTRY WHICH YOU
HAVE RECEIVED IN THE LORD, THAT YOU
MAY FULFILL IT ( COLOSSIANS 4 : 17 )

LINK-IT-IN

DANIEL 9

Daniel prayed.
What an amazing prayer!
Praying with the WORD as the base!
Praying after spending enough time and energy to understand
the written WORD!
Praying by taking hold of the promise by trusting GOD’s grace
and faithfulness!
Praying by, not just making the faith confession because of the promise but, fasting, humbling, weeping and confessing the failure!
Truly an amazing prayer!

But what was the prayer point?
Asking GOD to cause HIS face shine on HIS sanctuary
which was desolate! ( DANIEL 9 : 17 ).
Even though there was a clear promise from GOD through
HIS prophet Jeremiah( 2 CHRONICLES 36 : 21 ), Daniel
was not claiming the promise but fought on his knees for
the fulfillment!
Reading and understanding the promise and then kneeing
and submitting the supplications; What an amazing prayer
combination!

Not just Daniel’s prayer, but the answer too is so amazing!
But the answer is not a simple yes, no or wait as we
all speak about prayer;
In fact, the restoration of Jerusalem was not the main point
in the answer but the prophetical time table, starting from the
restoration of Jerusalem, linked with the redemption plan of
the world through the MESSIAH becomes the focus!

In other words, God’s messenger Gabriel exhorts Daniel to
open his eyes to look beyond his prayer for his nation!
Link your prayer with the overall plan of GOD for the world!

Restoration of Jerusalem was so important, no doubt, but
that was only a part of HIS redemption plan!
Desolation of the land, exile, slavery and suffering were all
heartbreaking consequences of sin and the land longed for
HIS touch to regain its lost glory but GOD longed not just
for the redemption of that land but of the whole world!

Dear friend,
Most of the times we consider prayer as a tool to solve our
problems; To some extent that may be true, but we all are
expected to grasp the love and longing of the Father’s heart,
HIS redemption plan and our role in that redemption plan!

Our life is not about our problems, our visions, our missions,
our churches and our organizations, not even about our
nation but about HIS redemption plan for the world!

If we link-it-in our life, our prayer life will be transformed and
we can understand that our small story is a part of HIS big
story; this will help us to understand and accept our role in
HIS plan and to have a fruitful life.

YOUR KINGDOM COME. YOUR WILL BE DONE ON
EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN ( MATTHEW 6 : 10 )

PARTIAL DERIVATIVES

DANIEL 5

Belshazzar, son of Nebuchadnezzar, was slain and
Darius the Mede received the kingdom!
Even though the reason for this was clearly given
in the Book of Daniel, the root behind that reason
was slightly hidden;
Consider the following verses:

1. DANIEL 5 : 2
The king knew about the vessels from the temple of GOD
and the place where they were kept; but he didn’t knew
the history behind that vessels!
He thought about using that vessels but didn’t understand
the proper way to use them or the purpose for which they
were made!
He knew but he didn’t know!
Partial understanding; Superficial grasping!

2. DANIEL 5 : 13.
Daniel served as the chief administrator of Babylon for so
many years, solved so many problems, interpreted so many
of Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams and was faithful to that king in
all the assignments; but strangely king Belshazzar recognized
Daniel as a Jew whom Nebuchadnezzar brought from Judah!
Even the Queen knew more things about Daniel!
Even though what Belshazzar told about Daniel was true, in the kingdom of Babylon, that was not the whole truth about Daniel!
He knew but he didn’t know!
Partial understanding; Superficial grasping!

3. DANIEL 5 : 22.
Belshazzar knew about the things happened to his father; his
power and might; his pride and fall; his repentance and his
restoration!
Belshazzar knew from his father’s experience that the Most
High GOD rules in the kingdom of men; But he didn’t know
how to humble himself like Nebuchadnezzar!
He knew but he didn’t know!
Partial understanding; Superficial grasping!

4. DANIEL 5 : 30.
As a king, Belshazzar was supposed to know about his
enemies, but he didn’t know that his enemies were so close!
That very night he got killed.
He knew about the judgement coming on him,as interpreted by
Daniel, but he surely didn’t expect that on the same day!
In fact, he knew how to honor Daniel who interpreted but
didn’t know how to repent and to have a possible escape!
He knew but he didn’t know!
Partial understanding; Superficial grasping!

Leave him, but what about us?
Are we all not having the same problem?
Superficially reading the WORD and not even trying to
grasp what is written?
Know about the Holy things but don’t know how to use
them?
Know about the SON of MAN but satisfied with a partial
understanding of HIS nature?
Know about so many experiences but never learnt to
apply the experiences in a Biblical way?
Know about the coming judgement but not serious about
that and hence postponing repentance and reconciliation?

Remember,
Proper Action depends on proper understanding;
Proper understanding depends on proper studying;
Proper studying depends on proper time spending;

Ignoring the WORD or superficially reading the WORD
just for name sake will slowly corrupt our understanding
and hence the power to apply the WORD in our life!

Take time to be holy!

TEKEL: YOU HAVE BEEN WEIGHED IN THE
BALANCES, AND FOUND WANTING. ( DANIEL 5 : 27 ).

SELFIE

DANIEL 4

Daniel 4th chapter, a selfie of Nebuchadnezzar?
It is doubtful that any book on ‘world history’ would have
this piece of information about that great king!

It may be so easy to take this kind of selfie with so many
dark spots but it needs real courage to like, comment and
share this ‘selfie’ with others; not just with a small group
of friends and followers but with the public! (DANIEL 4: 1).

But his motive is very clear; through this selfie he illustrated
the most important truth ‘The LORD Reigns!’.

We may not be having a great kingdom like Nebuchadnezzar’s
kingdom, but in our little kingdoms most of the times we fail to
acknowledge this fundamental truth!

Even though we claim that we surrender all, we are having so
many peculiar compartments in our kingdom which are not
governed by HIS WORD but by our own wish and will.

Remember, when GOD decided to teach Nebuchadnezzar this
truth, HE permitted the king to go down from the normal human
behaviour and attitude to animal kind of life!

Is not true that we also some times, may be most of the times,
express this kind of animal instincts in our life?
Our abnormal obsession with lust, power or money, our secret
desire to be worshipped, our angry outbursts and unashamed
rationalizations all may not be because of our DNAs or impact
of the generational curse!

Who knows that all the above may be the side effects of our
failure to acknowledge HIS authority in some of our secret
compartments!

Take selfie, not with some costly gadgets, but with the help of
the HOLY SPIRIT in the light of the WORD in the chamber of
solitude!
This selfie is not to impress others by covering the ugly dots
but to confess the dark side to your CREATOR and to forsake
them; To hand over the governance of all the compartments
of your kingdom to the EVERLASTING KING!

Believe, HE is so gentle and loving that he won’t share what
you confessed with others; In fact HE won’t even remember
them but will give you grace!

If you have secret struggles in your behaviour and attitude,
better take selfie; HE is waiting to give you HIS image and
HIS glory!

HOW GREAT ARE HIS SIGNS,
HOW POWERFUL HIS WONDERS!
HIS KINGDOM WILL LAST FOREVER,
HIS RULE THROUGH ALL GENERATIONS.
( DANIEL 4 : 3 )

THE FIRST MISSIONARY

MATTHEW 2 : 13 – 15
Happily lived ever after!
The dream of having a secure and settled life after marriage!
What was the dream of Joseph?
What was his plan about his married life?
The Divine intervention changed his dreams upside down!
Immediately after his engagement, his dreams distanced
themselves from reality and so he tried to distance himself
from Mary!
He was a just man but he was just a man!
His plan to break the engagement quietly was not approved by
GOD and he set aside his dreams because of the dream!
He obeyed, he sacrificed and he cared.
His obedience brought any immediate blessing?, No!
Again he got a dream, a warning, a command to flee to Egypt!
Reason?
To protect JESUS from Herod!
See the command, was it not peculiar?
A man who obeyed so much was not allowed even to stay in
that place!
He was not even asked to go but flee! That too in the night!
Why not some other option?
Why not instant removal of Herod so that the obedient Joseph
could have lived in the comfort zone?
Because, it was a fulfillment of Scripture!( MATTHEW 2 : 15 ).
But Joseph obeyed!
See, Joseph got up and fled to Egypt with Mary and JESUS,
not to protect himself or his dear wife but to protect JESUS!
The calling of a missionary!
The attitude of keeping JESUS, the WORD, as the reason
for all the moves and stops!
He didn’t even send but went! For Jesus sake!
The first missionary!
Dear friend,
Come out of your comfort zone!
Listen to the High calling!
Let the WORD decide your moves and stops!
If any of your move, vertical or horizontal, is going to hurt the
WORD, then you are not in his perfect will!
If necessary, let us suffer but not the WORD!

I REFLECT AT NIGHT ON WHO YOU ARE, O LORD, AND
OBEY YOUR LAW BECAUSE OF THIS. ( PSALM 119 : 55 )

SHOWCASE SOLDIERS

I SAMUEL 17 : 16

Goliath presented himself forty days, morning and evening;
This means he challenged Saul’s army eighty times!
Was it not too much?

Even though Saul and all his soldiers heard the words of
Goliath again and again, they didn’t do anything constructive
to manage the situation!

Just think about the Israel’s army!
To the people of Israel, they all looked brave men;
The way they dressed, the weapons they carried, the place
they stayed and their position in the army all impressed the
common people so much and they all believed that the army
was doing something great in the battlefield; That is why even David’s father sent David to that place with some extra items!

But what was the truth?
Not even one person acted like a true soldier!
If they were not ready to accept the challenge, why they were
simply sitting there for forty days?
Even if the challenge was so difficult, why they didn’t bother
about any other alternate strategy?
How was it possible to be so passive when the enemy was
humiliating them?
Showcase soldiers?

Dear friend,
Is not true about our fellowships too?
Some times we also behave like the showcase soldiers!

Some of the secret sins entrap and mock at us, but we simply
respond by labeling them as minor weakness; we never bother
about the way they ruin our effectiveness and hence instead of
finding a solution to that problem, we move passively here and
there.

Some times, even though we hear the challenges of the enemy
again and again, because of fear we sit quietly in a corner but
projecting ourselves as warriors in our own circles!

The WORD we carry, the place we assemble, the company we
keep and the name we have force other believers to consider
us as super saints but what we do in the battle field for a long
time is so pathetic!

Do you know that the army of Israel was so settled in their
passive state that they tried their best to discourage even the
courageous David?

Is it the reason for our not so enthusiastic Christian life?
We know our problems but instead of challenging them, we
somehow simply accept them as unsolvable.
We see it regularly, hear its threatening and mocking but
not trying or planning any constructive strategy!

Remember,
We are changed to challenge the world
and challenged to change the world!

Don’t wait for a David; we all are Davids!
Be a warrior! Get HIS strength and be an over-comer!

FOR YOU HAVE ARMED ME WITH STRENGTH FOR THE
BATTLE; YOU HAVE SUBDUED UNDER ME THOSE WHO
ROSE UP AGAINST ME. ( PSALM 18 : 39 )

HENCE THE PROOF

LUKE 1 : 30 – 56

Gabriel announced to Mary her role in CHRIST”s birth.
Miraculous conception!
Even though she had some genuine doubts, after the
Angel’s explanation, she accepted the news.
Immediately she surrendered her life!

But, have you noticed?
She didn’t ask any question to the angel regarding Joseph,
even though she was betrothed to Joseph?
How to explain this to Joseph?
How to convince Joseph?
Whether he will accept her words?
If not?

No questions!
She surrendered and went to the hill country to help and
encourage Elizabeth!
She thanked and praised GOD!
What about Joseph’s approval?

But, when Joseph decided to put her away secretly, GOD
sent HIS angel to Joseph in his dream and gave Joseph the
necessary explanations!

Think about it!
What ever might have been the understanding between
Joseph and Mary, Mary could not have proved herself to
Joseph about the Divine visitation!.
Only GOD can prove that!.

Dear friend,
How much time and energy we are wasting in explaining
our calling and vision to others?
Most of the times, we get frustrated by the response of
the people who are committed to misunderstand us!
‘How to prove it?’ is the most dominating thought of us as
we believe that we can convince others with our natural
strength!

If your vision is approved by GOD, don’t waste your time
in worrying about the approval of men!
In the right time, in HIS own way, GOD will convince others
about HIS plan in your life!
Up to that moment, like Mary, receive the revealed WORD
in faith, surrender your life to GOD, praise and thank GOD
and encourage others.
You will not be ashamed!

HE SHALL BRING FORTH YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS AS
THE LIGHT,  AND YOUR JUSTICE AS THE NOONDAY.
( PSALM 37 : 6 ).

PURSUIT OF PLEASURE

MATTHEW 1 : 24 & 25

Joseph accepted Mary as his wife and did not know her
till she had brought forth her firstborn!.
This means, Joseph abstained himself from the sexual
pleasure nearly for a year!

Reason?
To ensure the holy birth of Jesus!
To ensure proper delivery!
Accepting Mary as his wife itself was a big challenge but,
in addition, abstaining from marital sex would have been
a tough challenge!

Even the old testament Joseph abstained himself from
the illegitimate sex; but the new testament Joseph went
an extra step by abstaining even from the legitimate sex!.

Think about that!
In a generation, where all kinds of sex are getting legalized,
where the pursuit of pleasure is projected as the only worthy
aim, where visual sex and virtual sex are the norms of the day,
and where premarital sex and extra marital sex are considered
as fashion, sacrificing even his legitimate pleasure for a period
for CHRIST’s sake is certainly a challenge to all of us!

Are we entrapped in the comfort zone mania because of our
pursuit of pleasure?
Do we justify the ‘convenio’ we are enjoying by declaring ” I
deserve it” arguments?
Do we erase the Christian principles of simplicity and sacrifice
from our vocabulary to accommodate comfort and prosperity?
Do we still believe the proper delivery of the WORD and the
pursuit of pleasure can coexist?

Dear friend.
Wish to have an impact for CHRIST’s sake?
Don’t just get satisfied with abstaining from the wrong things;
Go ahead and learn to sacrifice even the right things!.

Sacrificing extra one or two hours of sleep so that to pray a
little extra, skipping one or two meals so that to meditate the
WORD a little extra, postponing some costly purchases so
that to support missions a little extra, Oh!

Nobody will tell you that these are mandatory, but the fine line
between the achievers and the orators in GOD’s kingdom is
drawn only with these little extras!

Live a life worthy of your calling!

MY SONS, DO NOT BE NEGLIGENT NOW, FOR THE LORD
HAS CHOSEN YOU TO STAND BEFORE HIM, TO SERVE
HIM, AND THAT YOU SHOULD MINISTER TO HIM AND BURN
INCENSE. ( II CHRONICLES 29 : 11 ).

PROACTIVE PROFESSIONALS

GENESIS 41 : 25 – 38

Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream to the satisfaction
of Pharaoh, but he didn’t stop with the interpretation.
Read the verses 33 to 36, we can see Joseph’s proactive
way of responding to his own interpretation!

Joseph’s request to Pharaoh to find a wise man, to appoint
officers over the land to collect one-fifth of the produce in
the seven plentiful years and to store the grains as a reserve
are not part of the dream of Pharaoh!

See the convincing action plan of Joseph!
How he arrived at the number one-fifth?
How was it possible for him to explain his proactive strategy so instantaneously with out taking even a fraction of second to
think and ponder over the seriousness of the issue?
A proactive professional?

Pharaoh declared that that was because of the Spirit of GOD!

Dear friend,
We claim that we are filled with the Spirit and led by the Spirit,
but where is the proof in our life?
Sometimes we even brag about so many kinds of Spirit baptism
and anointing, but in our personal or professional life rarely we
exhibit Joseph’s kind of proactive thinking!.

Always remember that the Holy Spirit is a Spirit of order!

If a person is having a mind that is undergoing rigorous renewal
by regular meditation of the WORD of GOD, the Spirit of GOD
will help him to exercise proactive thinking!

We concentrate on so many gifts but most of the time ignore the
gift of administration and won’t even consider that as a gift of
the Spirit;
Result?
Leadership crisis: chaos and confusion; lack of order in our
personal life as well as in our professional life.

Check for yourself.
How many Spirit filled Christians are sincere in their place of
work?
How many of us are actively engaged in making our place of
work a better place by applying the Spirit controlled proactive
thinking?

Change gear from the reactive mode to the proactive mode!

Even if you don’t like your employer, as you are placed there
by your GOD, you are expected to think about the welfare of our
employer, as if you are working for your GOD, till you leave that
place.

There are enough Christians to prove that they are ‘gifted’ inside
the four walls of the church, but how many of us can show that
we are ‘gifted’ in the market place?

Yes, we are called to be the witnesses throughout the world!

Don’t be passive!
Exercise your proactive skills!
Feed on the WORD!
Renew your mind!
Rest in HIS presence!
Walk in the Spirit!
Not just on Sunday but always!

You know, just one proactive strategy can save a nation from
seven years of famine!

…….BEZALAEL, …………, AND I HAVE FILLED HIM WITH
THE SPIRIT OF GOD, IN WISDOM, IN UNDERSTANDING,
IN KNOWLEDGE, AND IN ALL MANNER OF WORKMANSHIP, ….
