Have you noticed?
Daniel’s friends were facing a crisis because of
their faith, but Daniel was not there!
Read that chapter carefully, even the name Daniel
is not mentioned; We all know that Daniel was number
one in Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom(Daniel 2 : 48 ), but
when so many threatening things were happening in
Babylon, some how Daniel was not there!
Where was Daniel?
Being the chief administrator of Babylon, whether he was
sent on duty to some remote place?
Whether the enemies of Jews used the opportunity to
take revenge on Daniel’s friends?
We are not having the full picture, but that crisis brings out
a challenging truth; the truth about shadows!
See, in the first and second chapters of the Book of Daniel,
his three friends were directly or indirectly shown in the
shadow of Daniel; Even their promotion was because of
Daniel’s request! ( Daniel 2 : 49 )
But in the third chapter, the crisis brings out the truth that
they were not in the shadow of Daniel but in the Shadow
of the Almighty!
In the first two chapters, the fourth person in their team
was considered as Daniel, but the test of fire revealed
that the fourth Person was of Divine nature!
See the consequence!
Nebuchadnezzar issued a decree which prohibited anyone
to speak anything against the Living GOD!
Compare his response in chapter 2, when Daniel interpreted
the dream; It was not so strong compared to chapter 3.
How much we all need this kind of test of fire?
Most of us wish to be in the shadows of some men of GOD
and rests on their faith instead of having a closer walk with
the Living GOD; If our faith rests on this and that persons,
when the fire tests us, we can not shine!
Respect all servants of GOD, but remember we all are
children of GOD and hence expected to have a personal
faith encounter with GOD.
You may reach some position because of some Daniels,
but by your faith, you have to prove that you are worthy
of your calling!
Daniel’s friends proved that! ( DANIEL 3 : 30 ).
Welcome the test of fire!
HE WHO DWELLS IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE
MOST HIGH SHALL ABIDE UNDER THE SHADOW OF
THE ALMIGHTY. ( PSALM 91 : 1 )
MARK 6 : 1 – 6
JESUS preached in His hometown; The message was full of wisdom and power but the people refused to believe in him!
The knowledge about JESUS and His family became a stumbling block for the people to believe him even though they witnessed the wisdom and power of GOD!
Result: JESUS couldn’t do any miracle there!
Dear friend, Knowing JESUS and knowing about JESUS are not the same; Most of us know so many things and details about JESUS but try to live our life without knowing JESUS!.
Because of this knowledge, most of the times we ignore HIS visitations and waste the opportunity to know him more.
Some of us, after a time of closed walk with JESUS, will reach an imaginary saturation stage and after that dissect the WORD as if It
is a corpse in the hands of a medical student preparing the death analysis!
Remember, the WORD of GOD is living!
Don’t handle it like handling a corpse! Pray before, during and after reading the WORD!
When ever you read the WORD, humble yourself and ask for the illumination of the HOLY SPIRIT!
Remember, the people of Nazareth were able to see the power and wisdom of the WORD and even got astonished but that didn’t help them to receive HIM or HIS miracles!
We are reading the WORD not to convince others about our wisdom but to get convicted of our own foolishness!
Allow the WORD of GOD to read you, study you, dissect you and analyse you so that JESUS, the WORD, can do many miracles to and through you! That is the path of blessing!
FOR THE WORD OF GOD IS FULL OF LIVING
POWER. IT IS SHARPER THAN THE SHARPEST
KNIFE, CUTTING DEEP INTO OUR INNERMOST
THOUGHTS AND DESIRES. IT EXPOSES US FOR
WHAT WE REALLY ARE. ( HEBREWS 4 : 12 )
Ananias; what a beautiful name!
‘Ananias’ means ‘ YAHWEH has been gracious’.
What a meaningful name!
In the book of Acts we see at least three different persons
having this name but the similarity ends just with the name!
1. Ananias, in Acts 5 : 1 – 11, told lies to the Holy Spirit in matters related to offering and hence received Divine punishment!
2. Ananias, in Acts 9 : 10 – 19, was a disciple at Damascus who received special favor and assignment from GOD and was the first person to accept Paul as a brother in Christ!.
3. Ananias, in Acts 23 : 1 – 5, was a Jewish high priest who was against Paul and his faith; he went even to the extreme of ordering his servants to strike Paul in his mouth when Paul tried to share his testimony!
So, if we wish to name our children as ‘ Ananias ‘ which Ananias we
actually mean? or whether we mean only the meaning?
Is it necessary to give so much importance to names?
If men with name ‘Ananias’ were against GOD’s grace, is it right and worth to judge a person just by his name?
Is it so important to pressurize new believers from other faiths to embrace Christian names by projecting even baptism as a name changing ceremony?
Even though giving Biblical names to our children is a good practice,
we better be clear about the fact that no Biblical name is having the power to open the gates of heaven;
In fact it is not in the name we have, but on our faith in the Name above all names is going to decide and define our destiny!
Yes, whether we believe in the name ‘JESUS’ is the most important
Don’t fool yourselves by assuming that the so called Christian names will be having and giving us some kind of mysterious protection!
No name in this world is really beautiful, if it is not going to be in the book of the Lamb!
Have you accepted JESUS as your personal Savior?
If so, your name, whatever it may be, is so beautiful!
THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH …..
…… NOR IS THERE SALVATION IN ANY OTHER,
FOR THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN
GIVEN AMONG MEN BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED.
( ACTS 4 : 10 – 12 )
PESSIMIST: You are having this problem for the last twelve
years. You met so many doctors, spent so much money but
no deliverance; you have no hope; learn to live with this problem!
( MARK 5 : 25, 26 )
OPTIMIST : But I heard about JESUS; Even in my own place, I
heard about the deliverance a man, possessed by legion, got.
I trust HIM!
PESSIMIST : Even if you trust HIM, you won’t have the opportunity
to meet HIM!
OPTIMIST : Yes, but the LORD is close to all who call on HIM, to
all who call on HIM sincerely.( PSALM 145 : 18 )
HE will create an opportunity for my sake!
PESSIMIST : Even if HE is close to you, HIS focus is not you, but
the daughter of Jairus ( MARK 5 : 22 ) . HE won’t stop for you!
OPTIMIST : HE need not stop for me; HE need not touch me; I
will use the opportunity and some how I will touch HIM!
PESSIMIST : You see, how many are behind HIM; It is a big crowd;
But you are so weak because of your problem; How are you going
to touch HIM? It is not possible.
OPTIMIST : Yes, but because of the crowd, HE can’t move fast; SO I
will get more time to go close to HIM; With all my mind, with all my
strength, with all my heart I will persevere. At least HIS dress I will touch!
PESSIMIST : Dress? Do you have any scriptural reference to believe
that by touching a dress you can get healed?
OPTIMIST : I am not trusting the method but the PERSON and HIS
presence; HE can. that much I know and that is enough!
PESSIMIST : Suppose some one in the crowd knows about your
problem, what they will think ? you know, when you are having this
kind of problem, you should not come near other people?
OPTIMIST : when I started my faith walk towards HIM, the first thing
I learned is not to worry about ‘ what others will think?’.
Let them worry about their problems and their master!
Further, I am not following the crowd but JESUS.
PESSIMIST : You see how many are touching HIM and HIS dress;
nothing is happening; why waste time? Go back!
OPTIMIST : Can you please move and give me space to touch
HIS dress? I believe ‘ If I can touch HIS clothing, I will be healed’.
This is my faith; I don’t know about others!
She touched the fringe of HIS robe, and the healing power had
gone out from HIM and she got healed!
YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL. GO IN PEACE.
YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED, ( MARK 5 : 34 ).
MARK 5 : 35 – 42
‘Your daughter is dead, why trouble the teacher any further?’
The father received the shocking news.
This means that even though he prayed, after the prayer, things
went in the negative direction; when he approached JESUS
at least the girl was alive but even before he reached his house
with JESUS, his prayer got the negative response!
Is it possible to listen to JESUS when things go in the negative
direction after prayer?
But this father not just listened but also responded to JESUS’
encouraging words ‘Fear not; only believe’.
When they reached his house, they saw the flute players and
the noisy crowd wailing!
Was it not a confirmation against the father’s desire?
See, here the father is praying in faith to see his daughter alive;
on the other side his own well wishers arranged the flute players
which means that this is the time to bury her!
One father’s faith to see his daughter alive versus a big crowd’s
proclamation that this is the end!
Even when JESUS declared that the girl was not dead, the crowd
laughed HIM to scorn!
The whole atmosphere was against the father’s faith!
But the unbelieving crowd was put outside(Matthew 9 : 25), and
then JESUS went in and the father’s faith got its reward!
Miracle! Answer to prayer!. Just one man’s faith!
Where are the fathers who pray in faith to revive their children?
Where are the fathers who believe stubbornly that their children
will be alive for CHRIST, even if his well wishers are giving
negative report about their children?
Where are the fathers who are steadfast in their prayers even if
things go from bad to worse after prayer?
Where are the fathers who are willing to stand alone with CHRIST in
their knees even if they hear the flute players’ unbelieving wailing?
Where are the fathers who are ready to put the unbelieving crowd
aside, put aside anything and everything which are against faith?
Where are the fathers who will get satisfaction only when they see
their children spiritually alive, born again?
Yes, if you need revival tomorrow, fight for your children today!
ARISE, CRY OUT IN THE NIGHT, AT THE BEGINNING
OF WATCHES; POUR OUT YOUR HEART LIKE WATER
BEFORE THE FACE OF THE LORD. LIFT YOUR HANDS
TOWARD HIM FOR THE LIFE OF YOUR YOUNG CHILDREN,
WHO FAINT FROM HUNGER AT THE HEAD OF EVERY
STREET. ( LAMENTATIONS 2 : 19 )
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
Even when a windstorm came down, HE slept;
Even when the waves beat into the boat, HE slept;
Even when the boat was already filling, HE slept;
Even when the disciples were in jeopardy, HE slept;
The Savior sleeping?
Difficult to accept; Difficult to understand;
But we have to accept the basic facts!
Whether you are a disciple or not, sometimes you may
have to face the storms in your life.
Whether you are in the will of GOD, like Paul, or away
from the will of GOD, like Jonah, in your journey storms
The political storm, the economical storm, the relational
storm, the cultural storm and the natural storm threaten
a believer and an unbeliever in the same way.
Till this world passes away, till the new earth comes, the
naturally occurring things will be there.
Then, in what way our faith and HIS presence matter?
Dear friend, read that portion carefully!
First of all, JESUS only initiated that journey!.
Not just HE initiated, HE also clearly stated the destination
of the journey; to the other side of the lake!.
In addition, He assured His presence ‘ Let us go to ‘!.
In fact, by the way HE slept, HE indirectly illustrates the
way a person of faith, moving in the will of GOD with the
assurance of HIS presence is expected to behave!
If HE is sleeping, it simply means that HIS intervention
is not at all needed to reach the destination.
What HE told will surely come to pass!
HIS spoken WORD and HIS Presence,
No storm has the power to stop them!
Remember, if it is a real danger, even if you are not calling
HIM, HE will swiftly come and gather you under HIS wings!
But our problem is actually because of our assumptions!
We assume, every storm is here to destroy us;
We assume, silence of GOD as absence of GOD;
We assume, Heavenly promises can be disturbed by
the earthly storms;
We assume, calming the storms is more important than
using the storms to declare and grow in faith;
See JESUS’ response!
He never asked ‘ How could the storm come?’ or
appreciated ‘Thanks, in the right time you cried, we
all escaped’ or even consoled ‘it won’t happen again’!
But HE certified them ‘men of little faith’ and questioned
them ‘where is your faith?’.
Facing a storm?
Fear not; Check who initiated your project; Check HIS
promises about your project; Check HIS presence in
your project; yes, whatever may be your project!
If GOD is silent in your storm, understand, this is a minor
storm and won’t have any impact; just relax in HIM!
Remember, your SAVIOR is IMMANUEL too.
FOR HE SPOKE, AND IT WAS DONE,
HE COMMANDED, AND IT STOOD FAST.
(PSALM 33 : 9 )
JESUS saw their faith and healed the paralytic brought by
them. Is it not strange?
The paralytic got forgiveness and healing because of a team!
Who are they? Their name or native place?
Their relationship with the paralytic?
Who took the initiative and lead?
When obstacles came who encouraged them to ‘press on’?
Who gave the idea of uncovering the roof?
Was it not difficult to carry the paralytic to the rooftop?
How did they manage to remove tiles without disturbing
Did they know that JESUS knew about their faith?
So many unanswered questions, but about the team
we know some things;
1. They had a burden for the healing of that paralytic.
2. They got the information about ‘the move of GOD’.
3. They had unwavering faith on JESUS.
4. They were sharp enough to use the opportunity.
5. They were ready to carry the extra burden because
of their vision.
6. The closed paths were not strong enough to disturb
their unity and their faith.
7. They considered the closed paths as the reminders
to them to look up.
8. They knew that ‘out of the box thinking’ is also a tool
in the ‘inbox of faith’.
9. They knew how to balance their vision and themselves
even on the rooftop.
10.They were careful enough to carry the vision up to
their upper bound and then wise enough to let it
down at JESUS’ feet.
Don’t search the textbooks to know the definition of
” DREAM TEAM “.
Just observe these four men; their faith and perseverance!
See how GOD honored their faith!
Their vision: healing for one man;
GOD’s plan : forgiving and healing that person and using this situation to teach the most important truth to the mankind
‘THE SON OF MAN HAS POWER ON EARTH TO FORGIVE SINS’.
Dear friend, the Church history may have well known heroes
again and again but the unknown DREAM TEAMs are actually
keeping the flame burning and the light signing vibrantly by
their dedication, devotion, diligence and determination!
Do you think your vision, of bringing only one paralytic close
to JESUS, is not worth?
Do you compare your team and your vision with that of the
Remember, JESUS saw their faith!
JESUS knows your strength, desire, vision and faith.
Cheer up, He knows how to make it big!
RESPECT YOUR VISION!
RESPECT YOUR TEAM!
THE REST WILL BE HIS STORY AND HISTORY!
FOR AS WE HAVE MANY MEMBERS IN ONE BODY, BUT ALL
THE MEMBERS DO NOT HAVE THE SAME FUNCTION,SO WE,
BEING MANY, ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST, AND INDIVIDUALLY MEMBERS OF ONE ANOTHER. (ROMANS 12 : 3 & 4 )
JOHN 6: 5 – 9.
‘Where shall we buy bread, that they may eat?’.
JESUS asked Philip to test him. Philip gave the so
called logical answer.
But Andrew intervened; The question was not even
directed at him and the given answer was also not
a fitting answer in that situation.
But Andrew intervened!
The answer: A lad with five loaves and two fishes!
But why Andrew gave that answer?
There is only one possible guess!
The wedding at Cana;
Water, stone jars, wine; A miracle!
Do you remember that all the disciples were also
invited for the wedding and after seeing the miracle
of water becoming wine, the disciples believed in HIM?
When there was a need, if JESUS could use just water
to meet the need then, why not with five loaves and
two fishes now?
Every miracle is having a threefold aim: to bring glory to
GOD, to meet the need and to strengthen the disciples!
But, most of the times, we simply receive the miracle and
forget that. when the next crisis comes, perplexed and
answer like Philip!
But Andrew was different!
Not just in answering like that but throughout his life!
Read JOHN’s Gospel chapter 1 from 35 to 42.
Even though he was a fisherman, he was a a disciple
of John the Baptist, a preacher at the wilderness and
not at the seashore!
Not, waiting inside the comfort zone, like us!
When John the Baptist declared JESUS as the LAMB
of GOD, he immediately left the preacher and started
following ‘THE WORD’ JESUS.
Not, hesitating to follow ‘THE WORD’ then the one
who preached, like us!
He was the first one to declare JESUS as the Messiah,
just after spending few hours with HIM!
Not, doubting the eternal TRUTH even after so many
years of input, like us!
He, not just believed but started practicing by sharing
the TRUTH with his brother, Peter!
Not, simply professing but not practicing, like us!
Andrew, always alert!
No wonder he identified a lad with five loaves and
two fishes in such a big crowd and used boldly that
seemingly not so important information to meet the
needs of the people by trusting in HIS goodness!
Where are the ‘Alert Andrews’?
The Church and the world needs them!
WHO THEN IS A FAITHFUL AND WISE SERVANT,
WHOM HIS MASTER MADE RULER OVER HIS
HOUSEHOLD, TO GIVE THEM FOOD IN
DUE SEASON?(MATTHEW 24 : 45).
I KINGS 11 : 29 – 39 & I KINGS 12 : 25 – 29.
Sins of Jeroboam;
Again and again mentioned phrase in the Old Testament;
Why so much aversion against that?
Was it just idolatry or something deep?
Sure, he introduced idolatry in a crafty way in Israel;
But, the motive behind that?
Read the above portions carefully.
Jeroboam, just a construction labor in charge during
Solomon’s reign; Because of Solomon’s idol worship,
GOD got displeased and consequently ten tribes were
given to Jeroboam, after Solomon’s time, by GOD.
Prophet Ahijah clearly explained him the reason for the
elevation of Jeroboam and promised an enduring dynasty!
The only expectation was obedience to The Commandments!
Got the kingdom by the grace of GOD and got a prosperous
prophecy from GOD’s prophet about Jeroboam’s descendants;
What more he needed?
But insecurity and doubt entered his heart; Jeroboam thought
to himself ‘ If i am not careful, the kingdom will return to the
dynasty of David'( I Kings 12 : 26 ).
Thought process against the promise of GOD!
Doubt and lack of faith always begets manipulation!
What he received by promise, he schemed to control by a lie!
Idols, alternate places of worship, priests from non-levite tribes,
new kinds of festivals and strange methods of worship;
Yes, all these things were introduced, not because of
Jeroboam’s boldness but because of his fear;
Fear of loosing the things received by promise!
Check your life;
Do you have secret fears of loosing some things which you
got by promise?
Deal with that fear first: That is why, The Bible exhorts us
again and again ” FEAR NOT”.
Fear and faith can not co exist!
Fear gives way to doubt, doubt to uncertainty,
uncertainty to manipulation and manipulation to idolatry!
The FLOW; By GOD’s grace Jeroboam receiving the kingdom!
The FLAW: By fear and uncertainty, Jeroboam manipulates!
Result: All the blessings, promises and the kingdom FLEW
away from Jeroboam and his family!
A true disciple’s life should be ” FLOW; FLOW: FLOW”
And not ” FLOW; FLAW: FLEW”.
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR SENSES? AFTER STARTING YOUR
CHRISTIAN LIVES IN THE SPIRIT, WHY ARE YOU NOW
TRYING TO BECOME PERFECT BY YOUR OWN HUMAN
EFFORT? ( GALATIANS 2 : 3 )
GENESIS 50 : 7 – 14.
Jacob’s burial service; Joseph and his brothers
along with a big crowd went from Egypt to
the land of Jacob, completed the rituals and
came back to Egypt.
Only a few days affair!
No difficulty mentioned about the journey!
In fact, The Bible takes only eight verses for that!
But, during Moses’ time, Moses and Israelites took
nearly forty years for their journey; journey full of
problems, punishments, deaths, wanderings, …. .
From Egypt to the land of Jacob;
A separate book ‘ EXODUS’ deals with that!
Reason: Lack of faith, murmurings and rebellions!
Dear friend, it is possible for us to make some of
the simple assignments into a most complex and
painful projects just because of our attitude!
Doubting GOD’s goodness, blaming others for the
temporary setbacks, murmuring against GOD’s
provision and protection are sure time eaters in
Want to be efficient and effective?
Trust Him and His words;
Stay away from murmurers;
Thank HIM always;
Lean on HIM and walk.
Have an abundant life!
AS FOR GOD, HIS WAY IS PERFECT;
THE WORD OF THE LORD IS
FLAWLESS. (2 SAMUEL 22: 31)
