ONCE UPON A TIME

Once upon a time, there was a rooster living in the
middle east region. Had a small family, loved his wife
and children and had a peaceful life. But it had a small
problem; not exactly a problem, but an irritation!
It simply hated to get up early every morning and to crow!

In fact, after getting the direct and indirect feedback from
some friends, it got depressed and hesitated to crow again.
With much difficulty some how it managed to crow every day.

But one day it got so irritated because of the sleepless night;
Some confusion in the city and it affected the serenity near
the rooster’s house also. So, in its irritation, it decided to
take rest but its partner came and disturbed the rooster!

‘Darling, it’s time to crow! get up!’ the hen reminded.
‘I hate it; I don’t want to do it; Nobody appreciates it’ the
rooster murmured.
I know, but is it not your talent, your calling; Even if nobody
appreciates we have to be faithful in our duty, please’ the
hen begged.
‘Many hate my voice and consider my crow as an interruption
as my voice is disturbing them’ tears came in its eyes.
It continued,’ o.k, today I will do it, but only once and not
twice as usual. And that is also because of your love’.

The rooster walked few steps majestically and crowed.
came back. saw the satisfaction in the partner’s face.
relaxed. After few minutes, again the hen came!
The rooster shouted ‘ You know my hurts, the insults by
others because of my early morning crowing; You know
how others are mocking; Even then you want me to do it
second time?’

The hen became silent and then murmured ‘ Our visibility is
limited but your voice can reach where your eyes cannot see.
Who knows how many respect your voice beyond the visible
region?’. I also come with you, but you please complete
your work, crow one more time’.

Slowly the rooster followed the hen and then with its full strength
the rooster crowed!. Silence everywhere! They remained in their
position;
Suddenly they saw something like a human being coming
closer to them; they didn’t move; slowly, the shadow started
weeping in a small voice and then with a loud cry;
The rooster got shocked and asked the hen ‘ who is this?,
what is happening?’.
The hen looked around and said softly ‘ This is Peter, the
disciple of JESUS CHRIST. Dear rooster, do you know,
today GOD used your voice to bring this dear disciple Peter
to repentance? ( MARK 14 : 67 – 72 )

The rooster got confused ‘ my voice bringing repentance?’
The hen replied ‘ no one can bring others to repentance, but
GOD in HIS own wisdom used even your so called unappreciated
daily work to remind Peter about his Master’s voice’.
The rooster thought about the frustrations and murmurs it
had about its regular assigned job and GOD’s way of linking
purpose even to its crow;
It looked at the hen and said, ‘hereafter, whether it is shining
or raining, I will be faithful in my calling. Who knows how
many Peters are not repenting because of the unfaithfulness
of some of us in our assigned works?’
The hen nodded and they slowly walked away from that place.

WELL DONE, GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT;
YOU HAVE BEEN FAITHFUL OVER A FEW THINGS,
I WILL MAKE YOU RULER OVER MANY THINGS.
ENTER INTO THE JOY OF YOUR LORD.(MATTHEW 25:23)
