FLOW; FLAW; FLEW
I KINGS 11 : 29 – 39 & I KINGS 12 : 25 – 29.
Sins of Jeroboam;
Again and again mentioned phrase in the Old Testament;
Why so much aversion against that?
Was it just idolatry or something deep?
Sure, he introduced idolatry in a crafty way in Israel;
But, the motive behind that?
Read the above portions carefully.
Jeroboam, just a construction labor in charge during
Solomon’s reign; Because of Solomon’s idol worship,
GOD got displeased and consequently ten tribes were
given to Jeroboam, after Solomon’s time, by GOD.
Prophet Ahijah clearly explained him the reason for the
elevation of Jeroboam and promised an enduring dynasty!
The only expectation was obedience to The Commandments!
Got the kingdom by the grace of GOD and got a prosperous
prophecy from GOD’s prophet about Jeroboam’s descendants;
What more he needed?
But insecurity and doubt entered his heart; Jeroboam thought
to himself ‘ If i am not careful, the kingdom will return to the
dynasty of David'( I Kings 12 : 26 ).
Thought process against the promise of GOD!
Doubt and lack of faith always begets manipulation!
What he received by promise, he schemed to control by a lie!
Idols, alternate places of worship, priests from non-levite tribes,
new kinds of festivals and strange methods of worship;
Yes, all these things were introduced, not because of
Jeroboam’s boldness but because of his fear;
Fear of loosing the things received by promise!
Check your life;
Do you have secret fears of loosing some things which you
got by promise?
Deal with that fear first: That is why, The Bible exhorts us
again and again ” FEAR NOT”.
Fear and faith can not co exist!
Fear gives way to doubt, doubt to uncertainty,
uncertainty to manipulation and manipulation to idolatry!
The FLOW; By GOD’s grace Jeroboam receiving the kingdom!
The FLAW: By fear and uncertainty, Jeroboam manipulates!
Result: All the blessings, promises and the kingdom FLEW
away from Jeroboam and his family!
A true disciple’s life should be ” FLOW; FLOW: FLOW”
And not ” FLOW; FLAW: FLEW”.
